In the ongoing fight against counterfeit goods, knowledge is a key tool. STU knows that for authorities to take effective action, they need to have a strong understanding of intellectual property (IP) rights,  basic differentiators between fake products and the originals, how counterfeiters operate, how to take good photos of products, and who to contact locally.

To support this, STU has created two training programs focused on ongoing education to increase the effectiveness of IP enforcement by authorities.

A Two-Pronged Approach

STU offers two types of training sessions for different groups in law enforcement. These sessions help officers develop skills and understanding to effectively tackle counterfeiting challenges.

1. Brand Protection Awareness Sessions:

This focused workshop is ideal for authorities new to IP enforcement and those preparing for targeted raids. It provides essential background on brand protection, the types of counterfeits they may face, and what is considered an infringement. This equips authorities with practical tools and ensures they understand and identify when IP law is being broken, allowing for effective action during enforcement.

2. Product Identification Awareness Sessions:

These training sessions are not only reserved for those preparing to take enforcement action but also serve as general education about the brands STU handles, how to take good images of seized products and general traits of counterfeits, which helps the entire force become more effective, leading up to, during and after action has been taken. These sessions are tailored to officers from different units, while brands are also invited to attend and contribute to these events, depending on availability.

Encouraging Continued Support and Communication

STU is dedicated to continuous education for authorities combating counterfeit goods and providing practical training that improves enforcement outcomes.

To promote ongoing collaboration, officers are encouraged to communicate with STU about any concerns or questions they may have regarding ongoing cases. This dialogue is essential for effective enforcement and building strong relationships between law enforcement and brand representatives.

Let's stay one step ahead of counterfeiters and protect the brands that matter most!
